How we use your details
Version tester-1.0
Testers (invitation only)
Before Swirlwise opens to everyone, a small number of invited testers use the course online. You can only get an account with a personal invitation from us. There is no public sign-up yet.
Who is responsible. Swirlwise is a trading name of Heartful Services Ltd, a company registered in Scotland, company number SC638807, registered office Summit House, 4-5 Mitchell Street, Edinburgh EH6 7BD. We are the "controller" of testers' details. Contact: our contact form, or hello@swirlwise.com.
What we get from Google when you sign in. You sign in with your own Google account ("Continue with Google"). Google tells us a fixed account number that Google uses for you with Swirlwise, your email address, and whether Google has checked that address. We do not keep your name or your Google profile picture, even if Google sends them. Google learns that you signed in to Swirlwise; Google's own privacy policy covers that (policies.google.com/privacy). We cannot see your Google password and we cannot read your Gmail, Drive or anything else in your Google account.
What we keep while you test. The display name you choose; your progress in the course (answers, ticks, filled blanks, sittings, where you stopped); any notes you write for yourself in the lessons; which devices are signed in (device type and sign-in time, no location); and your "yes" to this notice with the date. If you bring in a progress file from the offline course, its contents join your account.
What we use it for. To run your account and save your progress so you can continue on any device, and to find and fix problems in the course. Testers' own notes are never sent to the team, to a parent or to any AI service.
Why we are allowed to. You agreed to test (your consent). You can stop at any time; stopping does not change anything you did before.
Who else handles it. Cloudflare hosts Swirlwise and stores your account in its EU data centres. Google signs you in, under its own terms with you. Nobody else. We do not sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
Cookies. One sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. It is needed for the service, so we don't ask about it.
How long. While you test. If you stop, or if the test phase ends and you don't move into the full Swirlwise, we delete your account and everything in it within 30 days. Safety copies of our database clear themselves within a further 35 days.
Your rights. You can see, download, correct or delete your details, and withdraw your "yes" at any time. Use the contact form, or email hello@swirlwise.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commission (ico.org.uk), or, if you live in the EU, to the data protection authority where you live.
